Lely UK Ltd is a subsidiary of Maasland NV, based on a 6.1 acre freehold site at Station Road, St Neots Cambs.

The company was founded in 1968 to develop the UK sales and distribution of agricultural products manufactured by Lely Industries NV in Holland.

The Lely group is well known in the agricultural market place for introducing a number of innovative concepts, including the first powered rotary harrow, pioneering spinning disc fertiliser distribution technology, introducing the first commercial robotic milking system, and developing computer aided control systems for use with field applications.

The company is involved in the sale and distribution of capital machinery and commercial turf maintenance equipment, and currently employs 95 people.  The turnover of the company in the year 2000 was approx £24.5 million.

In the agricultural market, the company is responsible for the distribution of the products manufactured by Lely industries NV based in Holland, and Lely Welger based in Germany.

Welger GmbH, a well known baler manufacturer based in Germany, was purchased by the Lely group in 1994, and Lely UK took over the distribution of the agricultural line of balers in September 1995.

During 2000, Lely UK has also taken over the distribution of Lely Welger recycling engineering products. These are industrial balers used for baling waste paper, cardboard and plastic.  Lely UK aims to re-establish the Lely Welger recycling products in the UK market over the coming years.

Lely (UK) has been the sole distributor for all the commercial turf maintenance products manufactured by the Toro Company in the USA since 1983, and over the years Lely has received numerous awards from Toro.
