Animal By-Products Regulations
The purpose of these regulations is to prevent the risk to humans and animals through the spread of disease from animal by-products.
The term "animal by-products" is defined as - "entire bodies or parts of animals or products of animal origin not intended for human consumption, including ova, embryos and semen" in the ABRP.
Examples Include:manure, gut contents, animal carcases including blood, skins etc.
There are strict rules for this regulation which include:

Categories
In the regulations it divides animal by-products into 3 categories.
Category 1: Highest Risk Example: carcases
Category 2: Also High Risk Material Examples: diseased animals & animals that die on farms
Category 3: Material Fit For But Not Intended For Human Consumption Example: parts of slaughtered animals.
Keeping Records
Anyone transporting or receiving animal by-products must keep records. |
